Aztec2026-09-29 23:39:30Aztec Relaunches zk.money With a $2,500 Cap on Every Private TransferAztec Labs has brought back zk.money, its self-custodial wallet for private stablecoin payments on Aztec Network, an Ethereum layer 2 focused on private transactions. The relaunch comes with strict limits: every deposit, payment, and withdrawal must remain below $2,500, while all users share a $50,000 daily deposit allowance. Deposits cost $0.35, withdrawals cost $0.20, and each user receives 100 sponsored transactions per day. The wallet returns before Aztec ships a fix for a critical flaw disclosed in its Alpha V5 proving system. On Aug. 7, Aztec said contributors had identified the vulnerability on July 27 and warned that an attacker could get an invalid transaction accepted, putting V5 funds at risk. The fix is planned for V6 later in 2026, but CEO Joe Andrews said zk.money would go live before then. zk.money lets users choose names such as bob.zk.money, with ENS pointing those names to deposit addresses. Users can send USDC, USDT, or DAI from exchanges or Ethereum wallets, though the wallet itself holds only DAI and converts USDC and USDT on arrival. Aztec says transfers between zk.money users do not reveal names or amounts on a public chain, while deposits and withdrawals remain visible on Ethereum.250
